Hi, Elaine Bedigian, writing as J J Haig. I’m an artist and author, and still working to finish building my website. I write Regency so most my stories are in early-to-mid-19th-century England. Lots of ideas: Napoleonic wars, civil/social strife, struggles over technology of the day…mechanization vs. hand-labor. All that, plus the history and legends of the British Isles is enough fodder for many books…My personal favorites: dragons; legendary heroes; mythic tales of Merlin. My current WIP, St. Etherans Monastery series, with a more modern setting, has Gothic undertones; legend-based theme, fantasy, magic, sorcerers, curses/spells…
Shadow started storytelling early on and spent over a decade in the performing arts, but left the stage for the page and now she writes Dark Fantasy and Gothic Romance books for Young and New Adults. Besides torturing her imaginary characters with love and other peculiar things, she creates beautifully haunting art with her iPhone, consumes absurd amounts of coffee and is enchanted by all things vintage, old world and macabre. She’s also quite fond of nonsense literature. Well, all sorts of nonsense, really. Shadow haunts from Frederick, Maryland, with her husband, two spawn and a menagerie of mostly domesticated creatures.
I’m 86, and I read more than I write now. Some sales back in the 1950s.
